While most people think of T Rex when they picture a prehistoric predator, there were many others throughout the reign of the dinosaurs who were just as fearsome.

If you ask me, the carnotaurus was even scarier with its horns and immense power.

These dinosaurs lived around 70 million years ago in the late Cretaceous period, and they were certainly a force to be reckoned with.

1. Baby Carnotaurus With Mother Coloring PDF

Let’s get things started with something cute, or at least as cute as a Carnotaurus can get! This first scene shows a little baby with its mother as she looks out for its well-being. Some paleontologists believe that baby Carnotaurus would have been left to fend for itself after hatching, but we can’t know for sure.

2. Carnotaurus And Triceratops

It’s fun to imagine some of the most iconic dinosaurs interacting, and here we can see a Carnotaurus hunting a Triceratops. Outside of a story like Jurassic Park, this wouldn’t have been possible. Carnotaurus lived a few million years before Triceratops was on the scene. It also lived in what we now know as South America, whereas Triceratops lived in North America.

3. Carnotaurus Chasing An Anklyosaurus

This scene would be a battle of epic proportions! A Carnotaurus had a powerful bite, but the Anklyosaurus it’s hunting had an armored back that would probably make Carnotaururs lose a few teeth. In reality, these two dinos were alive at the same time but unlikely to encounter each other, as Anklyosaurus lived in North America.

4. Angry Carnotaurus

Carnotaurus looked menacing enough at the best of times thanks to its fearsome horns, but an angry Carnotaurus was even scarier! This one seems to be ticked off, and you could draw some details to show what has made it so angry.

Being an apex predator is thirsty work, and Carnotaurus, like all large animals, needed to drink a lot of water every day in order to stay healthy.

We’ll never know what Carnotaurus would have sounded like while roaring, but filmmakers working on movies like Disney’s Dinosaur and some of the Jurassic World films have done their best to portray how terrifying it would have been.

Carnotaurus, like many other dinosaurs, was bipedal, meaning it ran on two powerful legs.

The skeletoon of a Carnotaurus was first discovered in 1984 in Argentina. This species is notable as we have only discovered one skeleton so far. Luckily, this skeleton was unusually complete when discovered, something which can be a rarity when finding fossils.
