Truth… I have made so many alphabet matching activities lately for my preschooler that she has started making requests for different designs. With such enthusiasm on her behalf, how can I resist making more of them right?! So to go along with our fun fall tree theme we’ve had going on this week, and at my daughter’s request, I made this fun Fall Tree ABC Match Preschool Printable that I hope you will enjoy as much as we did. Stay tuned for some more fun themes in the coming months!

Supplies you will need:
Instructions:
1. Print off the Fall Tree ABC Printable.
Download photo from the link and print it.
2. Prepare stickers by writing letters on them
Write the uppercase letters onto your red and yellow round stickers with your black marker. If you are using the blank version of the printable, customize the labels however you choose. I have listed a few ideas at the bottom of this post.
3. Let your child add stickers to the alphabet printable
Now your child can remove one sticker at a time, find the correct match on the tree and place your sticker onto the alphabet printable. Continue matching each letter until the tree is full. The great thing about the Avery labels is that they are removable so if your preschooler makes a mistake it’s not a big deal to remove the label and put it somewhere else.
I like to engage my preschooler when she is doing this activity by asking her questions like “What letter are you matching?” “What sound does it make?” “Can you think of a word that starts with that letter?” This could also be used a quiet time activity for preschoolers who are more prepared to complete it on their own with little assistance.
If you use the customizable blank version of the Fall Tree Matching Printable, you can customize it in many different ways. Here are a few ideas:
- Write the uppercase letters in the printable and on the stickers and concentrate on only uppercase letters.
- Use the alphabet printable for preschoolers with a letter F theme for “Fall”, and write upper and lowercase F’s on the printable and on the stickers for your preschoolers to match.
- If you are working on name recognition, write the letters in your preschooler’s name inside the apple and on the stickers for matching.
- Draw different shapes on the printable and on your stickers and have preschoolers practice matching shapes.
