Christmas Alphabet I-Spy Find and Trace

My preschooler has been working on mastering her alphabet this year. Recently she’s taken an interest in being able to write all of her letters so I made this Christmas themed Alphabet I-Spy Find and Trace Activity for her. I used all uppercase letters, but you could also use lowercase letters if you choose.

Supplies you will need:

Directions:
1. Start by making your Alphabet Christmas Tree. Cut a Christmas tree shape out from your green cardstock paper and glue a brown trunk to the bottom of it. Glue your tree onto a piece of cardboard for sturdiness (I used a cereal box) and then cut it out.
2. Glue your glitter foam star sticker to the top of your tree using your tacky glue. I opted to do this instead of peeling off the backing from the sticker because the overhang of the sticker at the top of the tree would have been sticky on the back.

3. Find one of each of your uppercase letters from your alphabet bead package and glue them onto your Christmas tree with your tacky glue. They look like colorful ornaments all over your tree.
4. Print off the free letter tracing printable and grab a marker (or pencil) and you are ready to play your I-Spy Game.

5. Playing I-Spy is simple… Find the letter A on your Christmas Tree and once you find it, you can trace the letter A on the printable. Continue finding and tracing all the letters until you have traced all the letters on your sheet.

Not only was this a great activity to work on pencil grasp but it turned out to be an awesome sensory activity as well. My daughter loved running her fingers across all the letters on the tree as she looked for each letter.
Make sure to check out the Alphabet I-Spy Game we made last spring similar to this one. We used different textured letters in that one and my daughter circled each letter after finding it.
