How to Draw A UFO – Let’s get Started!

Step 1drawing a UFO step 1

To get this guide on how to draw a UFO started, we will begin with the glass dome on top of it. This step should be quite an easy one, as all it requires is a simple shape and a steady hand.

The shape will be a slightly flat oval, and as mentioned this will serve as the dome for the UFO.

Once you have replicated the shape as it appears in our reference image then you are ready to proceed!

Step 2 – Draw the body of the UFO spacecraftdrawing a UFO step 2

UFOs are often called flying saucers, as a popular interpretation of them is that they look like the namesake.

We are using that flying saucer design for your UFO drawing, and that is the aspect that we will be drawing now.

To do this, you need simply add another flat oval shape underneath and circling the dome.

This one will be even flatter than the previous one, however. You can also add a line along the base of the saucer as shown in our reference picture.

Step 3 – Now, you can draw a section under the UFOdrawing a UFO step 3

For this part of our guide on how to draw a UFO, we will be adding a small round section underneath the UFO.

To do this, we will be drawing a thin, half-oval underneath the UFO. This could be serving all manner of functions, from serving as a scanner to a beam for abductions! What purpose do you think this section could serve?

Step 4 – Next, draw some detailing onto the UFOdrawing a UFO step 4

Now that you have the basic structure of your UFO drawing complete, you can now start to add some smaller details.

For this part, we will be drawing some small, round shapes onto the spacecraft. These would probably be flashing bright lights if this UFO were soaring through the air!

Once you’ve drawn these small oval shapes then you can add a line to the center of each one for a little more detail.

Step 5 – Now, you can add some final details to your UFO drawingdrawing a UFO step 5

Before you add some out-of-this-world color in the final step of our guide on how to draw a UFO, you can finish off with some final details and elements of your own.

For our guide, we added some lines coming down from the UFO to suggest a beam being sent down to the ground.

This is just one small yet effective detail that you could add, however, and you should feel free to add any details of your own!

Drawing something like a UFO always uses a lot of imagination, as we don’t know for sure what they would look like!

That means that you could add all manner of different kinds of cool details and additions.

To start with, you could draw an alien inside of the dome to show what kind of being would be piloting this ship!

You could also draw some cool ray guns or extra portions of the ship to make it seem even more technologically advanced.

In addition to these details, you could also draw a stunning background for it to show where this UFO is flying around! There are so many incredible options you could go for and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Step 6 – Finish off your UFO drawing with some colordrawing a UFO step 6

Now that you have finished off this UFO drawing and added your own details and elements, you can now bring it to life even further by adding some amazing colors!

We used blue, grey and yellow mostly for our example image, but this is definitely a picture where you can let your imagination run wild.

This is an alien spacecraft after all, so it should appear as otherworldly as possible once colored in!

You could achieve this by using some really bright, contrasting colors or by drawing some patterns onto it that suggest an alien origin.

You could also get the look you’re going for by using your favorite art mediums and tools. Tools like acrylic paints, colored pens and markers would be great for a brighter, more vibrant look if that’s what you would like.

On the other hand, you could use some watercolor paints and colored pencils to achieve a more muted look to the image.

How will you bring this amazing UFO drawing of yours to life with your colors and art mediums?
