My daughter and I busted out the Fun Chalk markers today and created this colorful spoon butterfly kid craft. The liquid chalk markers are so bright and cheerful and are so fun to doodle with. Your little ones are going to love getting creative and personalizing their cute butterflies.

Supplies:
- wood party spoons
- black cardstock paper
- Fun Chalk Markers
- small googly eyes
- pipe cleaner
- scissors
- glue
Directions:
1. Cut out butterfly wings
Start by folding your black cardstock paper in half. Cut a heart shape out keeping the fold at the bottom. Cut two small slits at the bottom of the fold. These slits make it so you can insert the spoon.
2. Decorate butterfly wings
Unfold the heart shape and use your Fun Chalk Markers to decorate your butterfly wings. I love the way the bright liquid chalk markers look against the black background, but you could use any color of cardstock you want.
3. Assemble butterfly
Slide your wooden spoon (wrong side up) down into the slits in the middle of your wings. Glue on your googly eyes and draw a mouth with your Fun Chalk markers. Cut a section off of your pipe cleaner, shape it into antennae and glue them onto the back of your butterfly. We also added a piece of tape to hold the antennae in place while the glue dried.
After my daughter made this adorable butterfly and said, “Look Mom, I made a zebra stripe butterfly!” I love her creativity!
