How to Draw Wonder Woman – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
Drawing superheroes in their comic book form can be a bit of a challenge, because you need to get body proportions and dramatic poses looking right.
That’s why we will take it slowly as we move through the steps of this guide on how to draw Wonder Woman.
To start with, we will be drawing her face and head. You can use some fairly simple lines for her eyes, nose, mouth and other face details. For these parts, using a fine-tipped pen or sharp pencil would be ideal.
Then, use some curved lines for her facial outline around these aspects. Then, you can draw her headband with has a sharp point in the center with a star inside of it.
Finally, use some wavy lines for her hair extending over her headband.
Step 2 – Next, draw more of her hair and start her arms
Now that you have her face drawn, we will start to add her hair and arms for this part of your Wonder Woman drawing.
First, use some more wavy lines for her hair extending off of the right-hand side of her head, as shown in the reference image.
Then, we will be using some curved and wounded lines for the first halves of her muscular arms attaching to her shoulders.
Once you have replicated these aspects from our reference image in your own drawing, we can move on to step 3!
Step 3 – Draw the rest of her arms and start on her body
In this part of our guide on how to draw Wonder Woman, we will be finishing off her arms while working on some more of her body.
First, we will be drawing her famous wrist bracers, and these will attach to where the arm ended in the prior step. Then, we will be drawing her fists at the ends of these bracers.
You can finish off this step by adding some simple lines for her back and chest, and in the next part we will start on her outfit.
Step 4 – Now, draw her outfit and start her legs
Wonder Woman’s outfit is another iconic aspect of her design, and we will add it to your Wonder Woman drawing in this step!
At her chest, there is a curved section on top that is in a bit of a W shape. Then you can use some smooth lines for her waist, and then draw the shorts that she is wearing.
These shorts will also have stars drawn on them to create a patriotic theme for her!
Finally, draw the first halves of her legs up until the knees and add some details to her bracers.
Step 5 – Finish off your Wonder Woman drawing
This fifth step of our guide on how to draw Wonder Woman will be all about finishing it off to have you ready for coloring fun in the next step.
The main thing that we will be drawing in this part is her boots. These will connect to where we ended her legs in the previous step, and they will have a pointy tip at the top of them.
Once you have drawn her boots, you have added all of the details in this guide! This point is also your chance to add some extra elements and details that you may want as well.
You could draw some more superheroes flying around with Wonder Woman. Characters like Superman, Batman and other members of the Justice League would fit very well with her, but you could add any characters you like!
Another idea would be to draw a background to show off your favorite Wonder Woman scene from a comic, film or show that you have enjoyed. These are some of the ideas that you could try, but what else can you think of?
Step 6 – Finish off your Wonder Woman drawing with some color
For the final step of this Wonder Woman drawing, we will be replicating her famous color scheme to finish off this picture in style!
Red, gold and blue are the primary colors in her outfit, and these are the colors that we went with in our reference image.
She has had variations on this color scheme throughout the years as well. For instance, in her recent film adaptations she has these colors but in slightly darker shades.
There are loads of options you could choose from, and the art mediums you use can also impact the tone.
Colored pens and paints would be great for a bright, comic book look whereas watercolors or colored pencils may work better to recreate a film appearance. We look forward to seeing what you go with in the final drawing!
