How to Draw a Unicorn Girl – Let’s get started!
Step 1
Start by drawing a perfect circle shape on the upper portion of your paper. This forms the outline of the unicorn girl’s head.
Keep in mind that the outline of the head must be a symmetrical circle shape. Feel free to use a compass to help you draw a flawless circle quickly and easily.
Make sure that the outline of the head will be drawn in the correct spot by creating reference lines.
Simply draw an intersecting horizontal and vertical line across your paper and use these as guidelines. The vertical line above the horizontal line marks the spot where you should draw the outline.
Step 2 – Outline the Unicorn Girl’s Head and Torso
Draw two downward slope curved lines right underneath the outline of the head. This forms the neck of the unicorn girl.
Afterwards, draw a diagonal line from both endpoints of the curved lines we drew just now.
Then, close off the figure by drawing a horizontal line at the bottom. This creates the upper body of the unicorn girl.
Step 3 – Draw the Skirt the Unicorn Girl is Wearing
Structure the skirt right underneath the torso of the unicorn girl. Drawing a skirt is as simple as drawing multiple connected standing rectangular shapes without the lines at the top.
This creates the folds of the pleated skirt.
Feel free to customize the skirt as much as you like! You can add any patterns or designs on the fabric of the skirt to add your own style to it!
Step 4 – Add a Layer of Fabric Underneath the Skirt
Draw another layer of fabric with a wavy hem right underneath the skirt that we drew in the previous step.
This creates the second layer of fabric right underneath the skirt, making it look more chic and trendy!
Step 5 – Next, Draw Both Legs of the Unicorn Girl
Draw two parallel lines with a rounded bottom on the left side right underneath the skirt. This forms the outline of the left leg and foot. Then, draw a curved line near the edge of the foot to form the shoe.
Repeat the same step on the opposite side to create the right leg and foot, thus completing the unicorn girl’s pair of legs and feet.
Step 6 – Draw the Unicorn Girl’s Left and Right Arm
Draw a semicircle on each side of the torso. This creates the puff sleeves of the top that the unicorn girl is wearing.
Afterwards, draw two parallel lines with a pointed end underneath each sleeve to create the arms and the hands. At this point, all four limbs of the unicorn girl should now be complete.
Step 7 – Afterwards, Draw the Unicorn Girl’s Hair
To create the hair, start by drawing its outline near the forehead. Then, draw the entire hair encompassing the top of the head all the way down to your preferred hair length.
Needless to say, you can make the unicorn girl’s hair as long or as short as you like! You can even put the hair on a ponytail, a braid, or any hairstyle you want!
Don’t forget to add a pointed cone figure on the center at the top of the hair! This forms the alicorn—the unicorn girl’s most distinctive physical feature!
Step 8 – Add Details and Patterns on the Unicorn Girl
Draw multiple parallel diagonal lines across the entire alicorn. This creates the distinct pattern on the surface of the alicorn, as shown in the illustration above.
Afterwards, draw a criss-cross pattern in the middle of the unicorn girl’s blouse. This forms the adjustable strings in the center of the top, thus completing the outfit of the unicorn girl.
Step 9 – Now, Draw the Unicorn Girl’s Facial Features
Draw two standing oval shapes with a small circle inside on the face of the unicorn girl to create her eyes.
Then, add shade to the entire eyes while leaving out the tiny circle unshaded. Now, draw curved lines on the edge of both eyes for the eyelashes.
Afterwards, draw a small semicircle for the nose and a slightly bigger one to put a huge grin on the unicorn girl’s face.
Don’t forget to add multiple streaks of line down the length of the hair! This adds texture to the hair and makes it look realistic.
