How to Draw Poseidon – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
We will be portraying a rather classic depiction of the god of the sea in this guide on how to draw Poseidon.
For the first step of the tutorial, we will be focusing mostly on his head, arm and his trident. We will start with the first half of the trident, and you can begin this with two straight lines close to one another.
Then, we will be using some curved lines to create the sharp pointy tips of the trident. Once that is drawn, next you can add his hand holding it, and then connect that to the first part of his muscular arm.
To finish off this step, you can then draw his intense facial expression and use lots of curved lines for his beard, mustache and hair.
The last thing to add is the back of the handle for the trident, and then we can move on to the next step.
Step 2 – Now, draw his other arm and start his chest
For the second part of this Poseidon drawing, we will start drawing his chest as well as adding more to both of his arms.
First, you can draw some curved line shapes on the left-hand side of his face in order to create some armor pieces on top of the arm that we will be drawing soon.
Then, we will be drawing the arm that these armor pieces are on, and this arm will be straight out and look very muscular. Next, draw the bicep of the arm that you started in the previous step.
This biceps for this arm will be drawn with some more curved lines to again make them look very muscular.
We will then finish off this step by drawing his chest and the start of his waist, and then it will be on to step 3.
Step 3 – Next, draw some more of his armor
Now we will be drawing some more of the armor that he is wearing in this third step of our guide on how to draw Poseidon.
First, draw a curved strap going diagonally down across his chest. Then, we will be drawing a large, elaborately decorated belt for him across his waist.
This belt will have a small rim at the top and bottom of it, and then it will have some vertical lines all along it.
Finally, we will be drawing some fabric parts dropping down over his legs and down from the buckle of the belt.
Step 4 – Add some legs for Poseidon
Soon we shall move on to a watery base for the god of the sea, but first we will be drawing some legs for him in this step of your Poseidon drawing.
The leg on the left will be extended out at quite a straight angle. The shin and foot of this leg will also be covered by his pointy boot.
Then, the leg on the right-hand side will be up next. This leg will be bent over and be raised up much higher than the other one.
The reasoning for this positioning will be clear when we draw his base in the next step.
Step 5 – Add a base for Poseidon in this step
Now we are ready to finish off the final details in this step of our guide on how to draw Poseidon. This will have you ready for the final step where we will color him in.
First, we will draw some rounded shapes beneath his legs to show that he is standing on some rocks in the ocean.
Once those are drawn, we will be drawing some much longer, pointier lines for the spray of water crashing against the rocks behind him.
