How to Draw Headphones – Let’s Get Started!

Step 1drawing headphones step 1

The kind of headphones that we will be drawing will be the ones that have an arch on top that sits over your head.

To do this for your headphones drawing, we will be drawing two shapes connecting to one another. First, start off with a large and thin curved shape that will go over the head.

Once you have drawn that arch, you can then draw another similarly thin curved shape on the inner center of that arch.

This will serve as a thin, soft part that creates a cushioned area for the top of your head. Once you have drawn these aspects, you are ready for step 2 of the guide!

Step 2 – Next, draw the first of the ear cupsdrawing headphones step 2

With the arch drawn, we will now draw the first of the ear cups in this part of your headphones drawing. First, add a thin rectangular shape connecting to the arch.

Then, you will be connecting three thin shapes onto this part and connecting to one another.

Each of these shapes will get progressively longer and a bit thicker the further they move to the interior of the headphones.

The one on the innermost edge will be the cushioned part of the cup that would go over your ear.

Now it’s time to move on to step 3 to add more to the headphones.

Step 3 – Add a microphone and other details to the headphonesdrawing headphones step 3

Many headphones will have an attached microphone headset which can be useful for talking to people or using voice chat in online gaming.

For that reason, we will be adding a microphone attachment in this step of our guide on how to draw headphones.

First, draw a rounded and slanted shape on the right-hand side of the cup that you just drew. Then, draw another squat, round cylindrical shape attached to that.

You can then extend two curved lines coming off of that part for the arm of the microphone.

Finally, you can finish off by drawing an angular shape onto the end of this arm for the microphone itself. Then you’re ready to move on!

Step 4 – Now, draw another cup for the headphonesdrawing headphones step 4

You’re making some great progress on your headphones drawing! As anyone who has had one cup of a pair of headphones go faulty will tell you, having only one side working is no fun.

That’s why we will add another cup in this fourth step. Luckily, you’ve successfully done it once already, so this time it should be even easier!

All that you need to do is draw a mirrored version of the cup that you drew already, except on the other side.

The only real difference that there will be with this second cup is that it won’t have a microphone attached to it, as having two microphones would be a bit excessive!

With the second cup of the headphones drawn, you are ready to move on to some final details in the next step!

Step 5 – Finish off your headphones drawingdrawing headphones step 5

This step of our guide on how to draw headphones will be all about finishing it off with some final details.

The details that we have added in this step of the guide are pretty minor, and they will be contained primarily on the cups and various parts attached to them.

We will also be adding some detail onto the stalk of the microphone by adding lots of little lines to it. This will make it look like it is a bendy microphone that you can position as you wish.

These are the details that we chose for the image, but this is also where you can show off how creative you can be with your own details!

You could draw your own logos, stickers or accessories onto the headphones for some ideas.

Maybe you could also use a photo of your face to draw yourself wearing these headphones!

These are just a few out of many ideas you could go for, but what else will you choose to finish off this image?

Step 6 – Finish off your headphones drawing with some colordrawing headphones step 6

Now you can finish off this guide by adding some amazing colors to your headphones drawing. In our reference image, we used some shades of blue, gray and red to color in this pair of headphones.

The good news is that headphones can come in any color you can imagine, so you could use any colors you love!

When coloring in a picture that has small parts like this one, using mediums with precision like colored pens or pencils can work really well, but any colors or mediums you choose will look amazing!

Do this to take your headphones drawing to the next level

Create a musical artwork as you make this headphones sketch even better!

The headphones we created for this picture really look like fancy ones. That being said, there are so many different kinds of headphones you could also create.

They can be big or small, and some are tiny ones that go inside of your ear. You could create any of these for this headphones sketch!

By changing just a few elements of this design, you can create something drastically different. If you have a pair of headphones, then you could use them as you change this design!

Even if you want to stick to the design we created for this drawing of headphones, you can still change some smaller details. For example, you could draw a cord coming from the side of the headphones.

Or, you could try to add some branding or maybe make the cushions a bit bigger. These are just a few ideas, but you could really go for any small details you like!

How else do you think you could personalize these headphones?

Headphones are most effective when worn, and that presents us with an idea for this drawing. One fun idea for your headphones drawing would be to show them being worn by someone.

If you were to try this idea, you could even use yourself as a model! You could make the drawing of the head realistic, but you could also go for a more cartoony style.

Who do you think these headphones could be worn by?

Headphones are used for many purposes, from listening to music and watching movies to playing the latest video games. You could show what these ones are being used for in some creative ways!

If you think they’re being used for music, then you could write some words from a favorite song around them.

Or, you could draw a moment from your favorite game to show what you’d like to play while wearing these.

These are just a few ideas, but what else could you portray for this headphones sketch?
