Unfortunately for us, many of those creatures are dangerous and threatening to humans, but sometimes they can be cute and harmless!
The koala is one of these animals, and these lazy cuties spend most of their time eating eucalyptus leaves.
They are also just incredibly adorable, and for that reason many people like to learn how to draw a cute koala so that they can show off this adorable little animal!

How to Draw A Cute Koala – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
In this first step of our guide on how to draw a cute koala, we will not actually be drawing the koala itself! Instead, we will be drawing a headband that this little koala will be wearing.
First, you can start by drawing a rounded shape for the knot of the headband at the center. Then, there will be two rounded, pointy pieces of fabric poking out of the knot.
Once the knot is drawn, we can then draw the rest of the headband. This will be drawn using some curved lines that start thicker next to the knot and then get thinner to a point at the sides of the head.
To finish off, you can create some crease texture for the fabric by adding some lines throughout the headband. Then it’s time for step 2!
Step 2 – Now, start the outline of the koala’s head
This second part of your cute koala drawing will have you drawing the outline of the koala’s head.
If you’ve ever seen a koala or even a picture of one, you will know they have adorable rounded ears.
You can draw these ears onto the band of the headband using some curving lines. These ears will be drawn with some rather jagged, pointy lines so that they will look nice and furry.
Then, you can draw the outline of the head. This will also be drawn using a curved, jagged line to also make it look furry. Once this head outline is done, we can move on to step 3 of the guide.
Step 3 – Draw the body outline of this cute koala
The head outline is done, and in this third part of our guide on how to draw a cute koala we will begin the outline for the body.
For extra cuteness, this design has a body that is quite a bit smaller than the head.
First, start by drawing the feet of the koala, and these can be drawn using some rounded lines that are jagged like the previous ones you’ve been using.
Then, you can finish off this step by drawing some more curved lines for the body and arms of this cute koala. Then it will be time for step 4!
Step 4 – Next, draw some inner details for this cute koala
All of the outlines for this cute koala drawing are done, and now we can start focusing on some inner details.
First, draw two fairly large circles inside of the face for the eye outlines. You can also add some curved lines above them for the eyebrows.
Then, we will add small oval shapes to the bottoms of the feet for the padding.
Unlike many of the outlines you have drawn previously in this guide, these will all be drawn with some smooth lines.
Once all of these details have been drawn, we can then add the final details and elements when we get to the next step of the guide!
Step 5 – Add the final details to your cute koala drawing
As we mentioned in the previous step of this guide on how to draw a cute koala, we will finish off the final details in this step.
First, draw a large, smooth oval shape between the eyes, and add a smaller circle shape inside of it. This will be the shiny nose of this cute koala. Then, add a small curved line beneath it for the smiling mouth.
Next, we will finish off the eye details. We will be adding some small round shapes surrounded by curved lines inside of the eye outlines for the pupils.
You can also add some curved eyelashes coming off the tops of the eyes.
Finally, we added some stripes onto the headband that the koala is wearing. When drawing your own version, you could also change up some details or even add a nice background to finish it off.

Make This Cute Koala Even More Adorable With These Tips!
It might seem impossible to make this cute koala drawing even cuter, but we think there are a few ways it could be done! Before we add some color to the drawing, we wanted to give a few tips on how you could do it.
One way you could make the koala even cuter would be to change or add some of the clothing it’s wearing. Right now, it’s wearing a headband that makes it look cute as is.
However, you could also add something like a bowtie or a cute hat with a flower on it. These are just a few ideas, but you can see where we’re going with it!
Adding some friends for the koala would also be great. They could have the same basic design as this one, meaning you could follow through the steps of the guide again.
By changing just a few small details such as the facial expression and posing, you could make some unique cute koala designs. Of course, they could also be wearing some unique clothing.
It would also be adorable to make this koala look like a stuffed animal. This could be done by drawing the eyes as buttons instead of how they look now, and you could add some seams and stuffing.
Creating a speech bubble with a cute catch phrase would also be a fun way to add some character to this picture. Once you have made your changes, you can then emphasize them when we add color in the next step.

Step 6 – Finish off your cute koala drawing with color
This is the final step of our guide on how to draw a cute koala, and in it we shall finish off with some colors! First, we used blue for the eyes.
Then, we went with various shades of greys for the fur of the koala. Finally, we used pink for the inner ears and then used various bright colors for the stripes of the headband.
