How to Draw A Cartoon Sheep – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
We shall begin this cartoon sheep drawing with the head of the animal. The head will be quite large, and it will have some wooly fur on top.
Before we draw that wool, we will draw the front of the face. This will have a single long, curved line that will function as the front of the face, and this will extend into the mouth.
Then, we will use another long, curved line for the base of the head.
The ears will poke off the sides near the top of the head, and then the wooly top portion will go above it.
This wooly area will be drawn using some curved, bumpy lines. That’s all for this first step, and then we can continue!
Step 2 – Now, draw the sheep’s back
This second step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon sheep will be focused on the back of the sheep. This part of the animal will have a similar wooly outline to the top of the head.
That means we will be using lots of bumps to form a long, curved line for the back of the animal. The bumps for this section will be significantly larger than the ones for the top of the head.
The base of the sheep will be empty for now, but rest assured that we will fill in these spaces soon!
Step 3 – Next, draw the rest of the body outline and the eyes
Continuing with this image, we will now add the bottom outline for the sheep’s body along with some eyes and facial features.
For the bottom of the body, we will extend that bumpy line that you started in the previous step.
The sheep’s body as a whole will be quite oval in shape, and it will be drawn using the large bumps we used on the top of the body.
Then we will draw the eyes. First, draw two oval shapes with a tiny amount of space between them. Each one will have a smaller oval inside with a dot inside of that.
Then, we will add a curved line at the base of each eye for the cheeks.
Finally for this step, add some eyebrows above the eyes, and then we can continue!
Step 4 – Now, draw the nose and some wool texture
Now we will finish off the face and add some texture lines to your cartoon sheep drawing. First, we will draw a nose near the end of the sheep’s face. This will be drawn as a rounded triangular shape.
Then, for some texture on the wool we will add a series of small, curved lines onto the body. This will create some fluffy volume for the wool.
Once these details are there, we will finish off some final details in the next step of the guide!
Step 5 – Add the final details to your drawing
Right now, this sheep is floating in midair, and no one wants that! For that reason, we will add some legs in this step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon sheep.
The legs will be thin and relatively short, and they will have a slight curve to them.
Each leg will have some rounded lines at the base, and this will connect to the hooves. The hooves will be drawn as some rounded shapes that have two pointy tips at the ends.
With the legs drawn, you are ready for the final step! Before moving on to that, you could also add some extra details of your own. One idea would be to draw a fun farm background for this sheep to be hanging out in.

In our reference image, we kept things a bit darker and more muted with the colors we chose. The colors are different shades of reddish browns, and they help to give the sheep a cozier feel.
You could use similar colors for your own cartoon sheep, but don’t feel like you have to use the same ones we did! You could use any colors and art mediums you like to finish off this sheep.
You could even use some creative crafts like cotton wool to give the wool a 3D effect.
