Get ready to work up a creative appetite as you begin this step-by-step guide on how to draw a cartoon cheese in just 6 easy steps.
How to Draw A Cartoon Cheese – Let’s Get Started!
The design we are drawing in this guide is really fun and unusual! This particular block of cheese will have a fun facial expression, and it will even be striking a pose.
Before we add those kinds of details, we will first begin the outline of the cheese. This will be drawn using some straight lines that have curved dips in them.
The cheese will take on a fairly triangular shape, and it will be thicker at the base while getting thinner as you go up.
This cheese will have some arms to finish off the cartoon feeling, and we will draw the first one now. It will be thin and curved and then end in a rounded fist at the cheese’s side.
Step 2 – Now, draw some details for the side
In this guide on how to draw a cartoon cheese, we will be trying to make a 3D effect for the block of cheese. To try do this, we will draw a flat, triangular side in this step.
To do this, draw another straight line with some rounded holes coming down from the top tip to finish off this flat edge.
Then, we will add some circular shapes onto this edge to make the appearance of holes. This will give the cheese a Swiss cheese look!
Step 3 – Next, draw a face for this cheese
This cartoon cheese drawing will set itself apart from a real block of cheese by having a whimsical facial expression.
We will begin with the eyes for this face. To draw these, simply draw some oval shapes connected to one another.
There will then be some black oval shapes inside of the eye outlines, and we will also add some thin rectangular eyebrows above them.
Then, we will focus on the mouth. Draw a curved line with a pointy tip for the top of his smiling mouth, and then draw some squared, long shapes for his teeth.
Once it looks as it does in our reference image, we can continue to step 4!
Step 4 – Now, finish off the body outline
Now you’re ready to finish off the ‘body’ of this cheese. We will use some more of those straight lines that have curved holes and dips in them for the rest of the triangular outline.
We will also draw some more round holes onto this front surface of the cheese to finish off this edge. There will just be one more aspect to add, and we will take care of that in the next step!
Step 5 – Add the final details to your cartoon cheese drawing
It’s almost time to finish off this imaginative cheese with some colors, but first we will finish off the final details.
You will then be able to add some extra details and ideas of your own, but first we will add the second arm.
We are trying to create a portrayal that has a lot of character and personality in this guide, so here we will draw him giving a thumbs up.
Drawing this hand gesture can be surprisingly tricky, though! When drawing this one, try to follow the reference image closely as you replicate the positions of the fingers.
The hand will be attached to a thin, curved arm as the first one was.
Then, you can add some final details of your own! It could be fun to add a background, and this opens up so many possibilities.
You could use a background to show where you would like to enjoy some cheese and also show what you may have with it.
What extra details can you think of to finish this one off?
Step 6 – Finish off your drawing with color
In this final step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon cheese, we will finish off with some colors.
Cheese can actually come in many different colors and shades, but we have gone for a classic yellow in our example image.
We used various shades of yellow for the cheese, and using some darker shades helps to add some shading to the image.
When coloring your own one, you could use similar colors or go for entirely new ones!
We think this would look great with some vibrant colors, and you could achieve these with colored pens, markers or similarly bright mediums.

5 Tips To Make Your Cartoon Cheese Drawing Even Better!
These 5 tips for your cartoon cheese sketch will make it look even tastier!
This drawing of cartoon cheese shows what appears to be a slice of Swiss cheese. While it looks great on its own, you could add more slices of cheese to the picture as well.
There could be varying slices of cheese, and each one could be made into a cartoon character. You could look up some images of different cheese types if you need some inspiration!
Cheese is often best enjoyed with other snacks and food, so these could also be added to the drawing. One classic example would be to add some crackers to the image.
Once again, they could also be turned into some fun cartoon characters. What are some other foods you would like to enjoy with some cheese?
We’ve spoken about adding some food characters to this cartoon cheese drawing, but you could also add a human character.
It could be fun to base this character on yourself or someone you know! The only question would be what kind of pose you would like to create and how the cheese would be reacting to this human character.
Even if you just stick to this one chunk of cheese, you could enhance it with some simple extra details. Cheese is known for its strong aroma, and this could be depicted visually.
Just by drawing some lines above the cartoon cheese, you could represent this aroma. Or, you could draw some more holes or maybe have a chunk missing.
These may seem like small details, but they can make a big difference to the design of this cartoon cheese!
Finally, you could finish off your cartoon cheese sketch with a background. This is something you could use in conjunction with any of the other tips we suggested.
For an obvious choice, you could have this cartoon cheese in a kitchen or maybe a restaurant environment. What other background locations could you use to finish off this picture in style?
