How to Draw A Cartoon Banana – Let’s get Started!
Step 1
Let’s start things off simple in this first step of our tutorial. Bananas have a rather simple shape and structure, and when they are unpeeled they are one of the easier fruits to draw.
While they can be easier than others, the challenge comes in getting the shape looking just right.
This can be made even more difficult when the banana is unpeeled like the one we will be drawing now.
Worry not, however, as we will show you how you can make it much easier on yourself! First, we will draw the bottom half of this banana.
You can do this with a curved line to create the curving shape we show in our reference image. Finish off by adding a small rounded section at the end, and then we can proceed.
Step 2 – Draw the peels of the banana
For the second step of this guide on how to draw a cartoon banana, we will be drawing the skin peeling off from the portion you just drew.
These peeling sections will each be drawn using some very curvy, rounded lines. The one on the left will be part of the section that you drew in the previous step with no lines between them.
The one in the middle will be drawn as its own separate section dropping down over the side. Finally, the one on the right will be attached to the separate section of the central peel.
If any of this sounds complicated, it will become much clearer when you look at the reference image!
Step 3 – Now, start drawing some details
You have the outline for the peel of this cartoon banana drawing done, and now we will draw some details for it before moving on to the banana itself.
These details should be rather easy to add! If you’ve ever peeled a real banana, you’ll know there is a smooth outer section with a rough inner section, and these details will show this rough inner section.
Simply use some more curved lines to show this inner section on the peeling banana skin. Once again, you may want to closely follow the reference image for this part!
Step 4 – Next, draw the banana itself
In this fourth step of our guide, we will be drawing the banana itself, and we will be adding some cool twists as well!
First, draw the body of the banana poking up from the insides of the peel using a single long, rounded line.
This isn’t just any regular banana, however! This one will have a face and is sporting some accessories.
You can show how cool this banana is by adding some sunglasses onto it. These will be flat on top and will have two rounded sections at the bottom.
We will then finish off the face and any other final details in the next step of the guide.
Step 5 – Add in the final details of this cartoon banana drawing
This fifth step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon banana will see you finishing off the facial details for this cool guy.
First, draw some lips beneath the glasses by using some small, rounded lines. Then, give him some attitude by drawing his eyebrows above the glasses.
Once you have drawn these final details, you could add some of your own!
You could give him some more cool accessories, or you could create a background that might feature some other awesome fruits.

Step 6 – Finish off your cartoon banana drawing with some color
Your cartoon banana drawing is looking so great already! One thing that can make a great drawing even better is some color, and that’s what we’re focused on in this final step.
Real bananas come in a beautiful yellow color scheme, and we are representing that here.
This guy is cool and has a lot of attitude, so we are matching that by using some bright, striking tones of yellow for the skin with some milder tones for the inner portion.
