How to Draw A Cartoon Angel – Let’s get Started!
Step 1
As we mentioned in the introduction, a halo is a classic aspect of the common angel interpretation, so it makes sense we will begin this one with a halo.
The halo isn’t particularly complex, but it can require a bit of a steady hand. You will need to draw a horizontal oval shape that has another one inside of it near the outline.
Once that halo is drawn, we will draw the head of hair for the angel.
This will be drawn using some curved and rounded lines to form the shape of the head as it appears in our example. Then we will be ready for step 2!
Step 2 – Next, draw the rest of the face outline
This step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon angel will deal with finishing off the rest of the outline for the hair and face.
This will have you ready for the finer details in the next few steps. First, we will be using a series of curved lines connecting to one another for the fringe, and this will lead to the rounded ear.
Then, we will draw the bottom of the face. This can be drawn as a simple, large curved line. That’s all we need to do for now, and then we can proceed.
Step 3 – Now, draw the face of the cartoon angel
The cartoon angel drawing we are working on has a lovely happy facial expression, and this is what we will be drawing in this step.
None of the facial features are particularly difficult, and as long as you closely follow the reference image then you will replicate it easily!
The eyes are two simple curved lines that have some eyelashes poking off. These will have some eyebrows above them.
Then, the nose will also be drawn using a curved line that is pointing the opposite way to the eyes.
Finally, draw the smiling mouth beneath it and add a little chin beneath.
Step 4 – Next, draw the arms and chest
The head for this angel is complete, and now we will begin drawing the arms and chest of the gown it is wearing.
The arm on the left is hanging down, and it is drawn using some simple curved lines that culminate in a slightly flat surface at the base. Then, you can add a little hand to the sleeve.
The arm on the right is drawn in a similarly simple style, but it will be folded up to the chest. It will also have a little hand at the end, and that will take care of this fourth step.
Step 5 – Now, draw the rest of the gown and start the legs

The gown is drawn in a simple style as well, and it has an outline that forms a slightly curved rectangular shape.

This wing will be drawn using a series of long, thin rounded shapes to form the individual feathers.

Your angel still needs his second wing, and we will add that now! This one will go on the left, and it will also have individual feathers that are drawn as thin, rounded shapes.
Once this second wing is complete, you will be ready for the final step! You could also add a lovely heavenly background with some extra details to personalize this drawing even more.

Step 8 – Now finish it off with some color

We used browns for the hair while using a lovely soft blue for the gown. Of course, we finished off with a beautifully bright yellow for the halo.
These are the colors we would use, but you should definitely use any colors and mediums that you think would look great on this angel!
