Bubble Letter O – How To Draw Your Own Bubble O

A Step By Step Drawing Guide To Your Own Bubble Letter O

In theory, the letter O should be easy to write and draw. Whether it’s the lowercase or uppercase version of the letter, it’s just a circle.

When it comes to writing it, it’s definitely one of the easier letters to learn. In this guide, we will be showing you that you can make even this simple letter look really cool.

We will do this by turning this simple letter into an awesome bubble letter O. This will make the letter more complicated, but will also make it look so much cooler.

Not only will we cover how you can draw this letter, but we will also share some ways you can personalize and make your drawing even better.

With that, we will start the first of 6 steps that will show you how to recreate this awesome design for this letter that you can then customize yourself.

How To Draw Your Own Bubble O

Let’s Get Started

STEP 1:

How To Draw Your Own Bubble O step 1

As we mentioned in the intro to this guide, the letter O is a fairly simple letter to write. Despite that, we would still recommend drawing a guide for yourself using a pencil.

To do this, use a light pencil or press really softly to draw a circle. You should try to make this the size you would like your final drawing to be.

You also don’t need it to be a perfect circle, as this is merely to guide you as you start drawing the final lines of the bubble letter version later.

Whether you’re drawing a pencil guide or just going for it, we can start drawing the letter itself. You should choose a drawing tool that feels comfortable for you.

We like to use felt tip drawing pens as they make the lines look much thicker, but you can use anything you like.

The first line we will draw will be at the top curve of the letter. The reference image will show you where this line should be positioned and the curve it should have.

Once it’s drawn, we can start drawing some more of the letter in the next step.

STEP 2:

For the next step, we will be drawing the curved part on the left side of the image. As you can see in our reference image, the next part of the letter will extend down from where the previous line ended.

If you can draw these first two steps in one swipe, that would be perfect, but it’s okay if you separate it into two. There is a fairly sharp curve to this line.

It’s easy to make it wobbly when drawing a rounded line like this, so don’t be afraid to take it slowly and really concentrate on keeping the line nice and smooth.

Once you have drawn this next section of the letter, you’ll be ready to move on to step 3 of the guide so we can continue.

STEP 3:

How To Draw Your Own Bubble O step 3

In this third step of this guide, we will already be finishing the outline of your bubble letter O. There are a few ways that you could go about this.

One would be to replicate what you did in the first two steps. This could be done by mirroring the images from those steps.

That means you would draw a smaller curved line on the top right-hand side of the letter and then a longer one that curves down to meet at the base.

If you’re feeling confident, you can simply draw it in one continuous line starting either from the top or the base of the O outline.

Once you have finished this outline, you can then erase any pencil lines you may have drawn to aid yourself in the first step, as we won’t need them anymore.

Then we can start drawing the interior outline of the letter in the fourth step!

STEP 4:

How To Draw Your Own Bubble O step 4

In this step, we will be drawing the hole section of the O. It might be tempting to make this a simple circular shape, but we want to make it look like a bubble.

Specifically, the way we will draw the hole of the O will make it look like the letter is made out of a balloon.

To do this, we will be drawing the hole in a shape that looks a bit like an onion. It will start with a slightly curved line poking off the top.

Then, it will round down to create a mostly round shape. It will be slightly thinner at the top, and the line at the tip will overlap and stick up.

That may sound complicated, but it’s a lot simpler than it sounds. Simply follow the reference image and try to make your own as close to this as possible.

When you’re happy with how the outlines for the inner and outer edges look, you can then move to step 5 where we will add some final touches!

STEP 5:

The outlines of your letter are done, and now we will add some simple details to finish it off. The way we’ve drawn it so far already makes it look like a bubble.

The small details we will add now will further help to make it look more bubble-like, so let’s add them now! First, we will add a small oval shape near the top.

This will be there to replicate the look of light reflecting on the letter. You could also draw this oval elsewhere on the letter if you prefer.

It would also still look good if you added more reflective spots, but adding too many may make it less effective.

Try to keep in mind where the light source of your picture would be and then keep the reflective parts consistent with that.

Next, we will draw the lines that will give this letter some more depth. You can add these near the outlines of the letter.

In our reference image, we showed you a few places you could draw these lines, but be sure to play around with it!

Before we proceed to the final step, you can add any additional patterns, shapes or background details to your artwork.

STEP 6:

This is the final step of the guide, and it’s a fun one! It’s time to get our all your favorite coloring tools and mediums as we add some color to your drawing.

In our example, we showed you just one way to color in your drawing. We chose a warm red color scheme to make it nice and inviting.

To replicate the look of a balloon, we made the colors lighter on the top of the letter and darker at the bottom.

You could go for similar colors for your own drawing, but you could choose any other colors you like!

No matter which colors you may go for, you can achieve a similar effect by using some dark and some light shades of your chosen colors.

It could also be fun to make color patterns, stripes or shapes inside the O. this would allow you to use all your favorite colors.

Not only can you play with colors, but you can also try out different art tools and mediums to make the colors pop and look as great as possible.

Before we close off this guide completely, we will look at some ways you can make your drawing even more unique with some fun ideas to try!

My Final Tips To Make Your Bubble Letter O Drawing Even More Special!

As you saw in these 6 steps, drawing this bubble letter O can be trickier than you may think. You should be very proud of well your drawing turned out!

Just because the guide has been completed doesn’t mean you can’t still have some creative fun with it, however.

First, it’s always fun to incorporate words that start with or incorporate this letter. Orange would be an obvious choice, but there are others like o.ctopus or orangutan.

If you can think of others, then you can incorporate them in fun ways. For example, if you chose orange then you could make the letter actually look like one.

Or, you could write out the rest of the word ‘octopus’ and have a cartoon octopus curling around the letter.

These are just a few examples, but you can turn this letter drawing into a complete scene! Another way to do this is to write someone’s name.

Names like Oscar or Olivia would be perfect, and you could write the rest of the names in a similar style.

If you have a friend or family member with a name starting with O, then you could make a cool card or gift for them this way! What other fun ideas do you have for this drawing?
