The letter G is the seventh letter in the alphabet, and it’s quite a unique looking one. It’s also an instance where the upper and lowercase versions look quite different from one another.
Learning how to write the letter G can take a bit of practice, and learning how to draw a bubble letter G can be similarly challenging.
Luckily, we have this awesome guide on how to draw a bubble version of this letter in just 6 easy steps!
We will be covering not only how you can draw this letter but also how you can color and personalize it with your own touches.
There will be plenty of room for you to show off your own creativity as well!
Without further ado, let’s dive into the first step we have for you and see how you can draw this unique letter in a really fun and creative way.
Let’s Get Started
STEP 1:
In this first step, we will be drawing a fairly long, curved line. This will serve as the left-hand base of the letter G we will be drawing.
If you want to make things easier for yourself, try drawing out a large letter G with a pencil first so that you can build the bubble version around it.
Whether you decide to do that or not, we can draw the first line. It will be drawn with one long, steady stroke that has a slight curve to it.
Try to follow the reference image we provided as closely as possible. You will notice there is a small bump at the right-hand edge of this line.
Once you have added that little bump, we can move on to step 2 where we will be extending this line further.
STEP 2:
In this second step, we will be adding to the line that you began in the first step. For now, we will be focusing on the upper end of the line.
To do this, continue the flow of the line upwards, as shown in our reference image. It should follow the same slight curve that we were creating in the first step.
At the top, it will curve fairly sharply to the right, and this will serve as the top of your bubble letter. The idea here is we ideally want it to look like one long line.
If you can, it would be best to draw the lines in step 1 and 2 at the same time as one long stroke. Otherwise, try your best to make it look like they are connected.
Now that this next section of the letter is done, we will finish off the upper section of the letter G in the next step of our guide, so let’s proceed.
STEP 3:
When looking at a regular letter G, you will see that there is a little curved ‘roof’ over the letter. In this third step, we will be adding that roof to your bubble letter G.
To do this, we will keep extending the top of the line you have drawn in the first two steps. In this step, you will start to see the bubble effect taking shape, too.
Now you’re ready to draw the rest of the ‘roof’ portion of the letter. Extend the top of the lines we have drawn so far and curve it sharply inward.
If you hold your index finger sideways in front of your face and bend it, you will get a shape that’s similar to what we’re aiming for.
Once it has curved inwards, you will keep going until you’re about halfway down the letter. Now you’re ready to finish off the outline in the next step.
STEP 4:
As we mentioned in the last step, this next one will see you finishing off the outline of the letter. This will probably be the trickiest part of the guide, so we will go nice and slowly.
There are a few ways you can approach this next step, but we would recommend drawing the little ‘branch’ section that will go under the roof.
This branch will extend from that little bump you drew at the base back in step 1. You can use your hand to help you visualize the shape again.
This time, take your right thumb and hold it so the side is facing you. Bend it at the knuckle and you will get the shape we are going to draw.
Create a line going up and then curve it around, inwards and then back towards the center of the letter.
It may sound more complicated than it is, so refer closely to the reference image as you draw. Eventually, the curved line going toward the center will meet up where we left off last time.
With that, your outline is finished! Now we can add some details to make it look like a bubble, but we will do that in the next step.
STEP 5:
Step 5 of this guide will be all about making your letter G look like it is a bubble or maybe a balloon. We will do this with some pretty simple lines and shapes.
While the lines and shapes may be simple, they will make a big difference! First, we will draw an oval shape near the top of the G.
This simple little oval will be used to replicate the look of light reflecting on the surface of the bubble. You could add a few more ovals or different shapes for more reflections too!
Next, we will be adding some thin, curved lines throughout the interior of the G. These will be there to add some depth to the letter and make it look like it’s made of a bubble.
Once again, this is an aspect you could play around with by adding more or less of these lines. When these details are added, feel free to add some fun touches of your own!
You can get really creative with this by adding patterns or other fun touches to the letter. After the next step, we will also cover some ideas for you to try.
For now, we will move on and add some color to the letter.
STEP 6:
This bubble letter G that we created was a bit tricky, but you did an amazing job! Now that the hard part is over, it’s time to relax with some coloring fun.
When it comes to adding colors to a drawing like this, there are no wrong ways to go about it. In our example image, we showed you just one way to color it in.
We chose a bright red color scheme to create a nice warm feeling. We made the color much lighter around the light reflection oval to further make it look like it’s made of a balloon or a bubble.
That is what we chose for this letter, but you could color this in so many other ways! If you have another favorite color, then you should definitely go for that.
Or, if you can’t decide on one color then you could use a bunch of different ones to create a rainbow effect for the letter!

My Final Tips To Make Your Bubble Letter G Drawing Even Better!
When you feel confident about creating this design, you can have some fun bringing your own personality to the design.
You can get creative with your own ideas, but let’s go over a few ideas to get you started! We shall begin by thinking of some words that start with G.
There are words like giraffe, gym, gold or maybe game, to name a few. Let’s use a giraffe as an example.
You could color the G with spots and colors that a giraffe would have. If you’re feeling extra creative, then you could try to make the G look like a giraffe with its neck bent over!
This is just one of many ideas that you could use to make it look even more unique. If you know someone whose name starts with G, then you could write the rest of the name after the bubble letter.
The other letters of the name could also be written in bubble style or another font style you like. If you want to keep the same design, you could personalize it with colors.
It’s not just the colors you choose but also the art tools and crafts you use to bring the colors to life.
How will you put your own personal spin on this awesome bubble letter design?
