How to Draw A Black Cat – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
This is the first step of this guide on how to draw a black cat, and in it we shall begin with the head and neck of the cat.
The face will be seen at a side profile, and you can use some curved lines for the top, front and base of the head.
Then, use a small shape for the little nose at the front of the face and then draw a line in for the mouth.
Then, draw a small eye and add some lines poking out from it for that signature feline look. Finish off with the pointy ears on top of the head, and then you can move on to step 2 of the guide!
Step 2 – Now, draw the back and chest of the cat
To continue this black cat drawing, we will be drawing the back and the chest for it in this next step.
The back is quite simple, and it can be drawn with a simple curved line extending back from the base of the head.
The chest will be drawn using a much bumpier line to make it look furrier, and there will be lots of smaller line details drawn near to it as well.

Step 3 – Draw the front legs for the cat
This cat is sitting down in a relaxed position, and we will further emphasize this as we draw the front legs in this step of our guide on how to draw a black cat.
Use an angular curved line for the back of these front legs, and then use a shorter set of lines for the front parts of the legs.
We will also add some small lines around these legs to add some more of that fur texture detail.
Step 4 – Next, draw a tail for this black cat
This elegant cat needs a tail, and this is one of the elements that we will be adding in this next step of your black cat drawing!
The tail will extend inward from the back of the cat’s body, and it will be raised up a bit as if the cat is flicking it.
When drawing it, we will keep the linework a bit irregular and jagged to make the tail look fluffier.
Once you have drawn the tail, the next thing we will draw will be the belly for the cat. This will be made to look furry as well by using lots of smaller lines connecting to one another.

Step 5 – Add the final details to your black cat drawing

First, finish off the outline by drawing the long back feet resting against the ground. Once the outline is complete, we will then be drawing some texture details.
To do this, simply add some small clumps of short lines all throughout the body of the cat to make it look furrier.
