How to Draw A Beagle – Let’s Get Started!
This first step of our guide on how to draw a beagle will have you drawing the adorable face of this dog!
First, draw some round shapes for the eye outlines, and then add some more circles inside of them for the pupils. There will also be some more jagged lines surrounding the eye areas for some furry detail.
Next, draw some more curved lines for the nose, and then extend the muzzle out from that.
We will give the dog a big floppy tongue hanging from the mouth using some rounded lines, and you will then finish up by drawing the floppy ears hanging down the sides of the head.
Then you will be ready for step 2!
Step 2 – Now, draw the back and the tail for this beagle
Continuing with this beagle drawing, we will now be drawing the back and the tail for this cute dog.
This should be a rather easy step to complete, and you can begin by drawing a simple rounded line for the back of the dog. This will extend from the back edge of the ear on the right and then down.
Finally, draw a tail for the dog by using some more curved lines that culminate in a pointy tip at the end. Then, it will be time for step 3.
Step 3 – Draw the first legs for the beagle in this step
For this third step of our guide on how to draw a beagle, we will be drawing the first legs for the dog.
The front right leg will be relatively short but will extend out at a straight angle. The start of the chest will also be attached to it. Then, use another curved line for the belly, and then you can draw the back leg.
This one will be bent to show that the dog is sitting down, so you can draw it using some curved and rounded lines. With these legs drawn, we can move on to step 4 of the guide.
Step 4 – Next, draw a collar and the rest of the outline
This step of your beagle drawing will see you adding a collar and the final outlines to the body. Use some curved lines for the collar itself, and then you can add a small round shape onto it.
For an extra cute touch, we will be adding a drawing of a heart shape onto this shape. Finally, you can use some more curved lines to draw the front leg on the left that will be bent a bit at the bottom.
Then, finish off the chest outline, and this will have you ready for some final details in the next step of the guide!
Step 5 – Add the final details to your beagle drawing
Your picture is already looking incredible, but we just have a few final details to add before we color your creation!
This step of our guide on how to draw a beagle will see you adding some sections to the pattern on the dog’s fur that you will color in later.
When drawing these sections, we will be using some more jagged lines to make each section look furrier.
When drawing them, you should try to closely follow them as they appear in our reference image if you like the way our design looks. You could also create a different pattern design if you would like!
When it’s all done, you could also add some additional details of your own!
These could include some fun toys for the beagle, a background or maybe even some more dogs to go with this one. How will you complete this image?
Step 6 – Finish off your beagle drawing with color
Now it’s time for the final step of this beagle drawing! In our example image, we showed you the typical colors that these dogs are usually seen in.
That means that there is a combination of white, dark browns and light browns for the colors of the fur. When coloring your own image, there are other options you could go for as well!
You could change up the colors to use some different muted colors, or you could use your favorite bright colors for a more stylistic image.
What colors and art mediums do you think you will use to finish up this incredible image?
