How to Draw Belle – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
The Disney animation style is very specific and stylized, and the key to getting it looking right is to take it slowly and focus on each individual element.
In this first step of our guide on how to draw Belle, we shall be focusing on the outline of her head and hair.
To do this, you can replicate the lines exactly as they appear in our reference picture. There will be a single rounded line for her chin and jaw, and then we shall use several curved lines for her hairstyle above her head.
There will be some empty space between these aspects, but we shall fill that in shortly!
Step 2 – Now, draw more of her facial features and hair outline
For this second step of your Belle drawing, we shall be adding some more outlines for her facial features as well as the outline for her hair.
First, we shall draw her eyes. As is typical for many Disney characters, her eyes are large and very expressive. They will have sharp tips at each end with some rounded lines at the top and bottom.
You can then finish off by extending a line on top for her eyelids, and finish off by drawing some small lines off of them for her eyelashes.
You can also draw a circle inside of the eye on the left for her first pupil. Next, we will be drawing a single curved line for her nose, and then we can add some eyebrow shapes above her eyes.
Finish off this step by drawing her lips outline and then you can draw the rest of her hair outline as well.
Step 3 – Next, draw some more eyes and mouth details
In the previous step of this guide on how to draw Belle, you drew the outlines of her eyes and her lips, and now we shall add some more details to both these elements.
Start by drawing a thin shape inside of her lips outline to show her teeth showing through her slightly open mouth.
Then, draw some solid black oval shapes inside of the eye outlines for her pupils. Before you move on to step 4, you can also add some more detail to her hair, as well as adding a rounded line for her ear on the right.
Step 4 – Start drawing her neck and clothing
Continuing on with your Belle drawing, we shall now move away from her face as we start adding her neck and clothing.
Draw a thin, rounded shape coming down from her shoulder on the left and extending down. It should get thinner as it goes down until it ends in a pointy tip at the bottom.
This shape will serve as the collar for her dress.
Then, we shall draw some more curved lines for her shoulder on the left, and this will include a strap going over her shoulder.
Next, draw a small pointy line at the base of her neck for her collarbone.
The final thing we shall be doing in this step will be drawing a bow in her hair on the right, and then we can move on to some final details in the next step.
Step 5 – Add the final touches for your Belle drawing
Before you add some color to your wonderful drawing, we have some final details to add in this step of our guide on how to draw Belle.
The main thing that we will be adding in this step will be the right-hand side of her collar. You can add a similar shape to the one you used for the collar on the left to do this.
Then, you can finish off by drawing her other shoulder and then by adding some further details to the interior of her hairstyle.
Once these have been added, you’re ready to add some details of your own to finish it off.
You could draw some more of Belle’s body or maybe even create a background to show off your favorite scene from the film!
Step 6 – Finish off your Belle drawing with some color
Now you’re ready to finish off your Belle drawing by adding some color to her! We went with her typical color scheme of brown hair along with blue and white for her clothing.
Will you use these same colors to keep her looking as she did in the film, or will you go for a unique color scheme? We can’t wait to see what you decide on!

This drawing of Belle that we created in this guide focuses on her head and shoulders. Once you feel confident with this drawing, you could try to add more of her character design!
In order to do this, you may want to either freeze a frame in the film or try to find images online of her whole design.

Belle is one of many iconic characters from the Beauty and the Beast films. You could add some more life to the image by adding some more of these characters.
For instance, Beast would be a great addition to the scene. Or, you could add some of the living household objects that Belle befriends in the movie.
Another fun twist would be to add some characters from other Disney films that you would like to interact with her.
Once you have all of the characters and additions you want for this Belle drawing, you could also add a background setting. This could be based on your favorite scene from the movie!
Again, we would recommend freezing the film on this scene or moment so that you have something to work with. You could also look up some backgrounds online or even create a new setting.
The Beauty and the Beast films are famous for their amazing songs and music, and you could incorporate some of these lyrics into your picture.
Start by choosing your favorite song or songs from the movies. Then, try to pick a line or two that represents the song nicely for you.
