One of my favorite Springtime books is Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert. Children not only learn about the colors of the rainbow but also are able to learn about the different types of flowers that come out in Springtime.
This year I picked it up at the library for my toddler and we enjoyed looking through the pages and talking about all the different flowers and their names.
Last weekend I picked up the most darling flower stickers at Target in the dollar section and we decided to put them to use making our own colorful flower garden.
Here is my toddler’s artwork. I gave her a blue paper, some green paint and a paint brush and told her to paint grass and flower stems all over her paper. Once it was dry, she put the flower stickers all over the paper to finish her flower garden.
The flowers pop off of the page and are so cute!
Since this is a favorite story at our house, we have done other activities with it in years past. Make sure to check them out if you missed them the last couple years.
