To begin this, we will start with the head of the dad. Use some simple curved lines for the outlines of his face and hair, and then you can use some simple line details to add his smiling facial expression.
His daughter will be behind him with her hands over his eyes, and you can also draw her arms in this step. Once all of these elements are complete, we will move on to step 2.
Step 2 – Now, draw the daughter for this image
Continuing with this Father’s Day drawing, we will now be drawing the daughter of the image.
First, draw a rounded shape for the sleeve of her dress attaching to the arm on the left that you drew previously.
Then, we will be using some more curved lines to draw the outline of her hair and head. We will also draw her facial expression, and her big smile indicates that she can’t ait for her dad to see his present!
Finish off by drawing her back and some details for her dress, and then add one more curved line for the side of the chair the dad is sitting on.
Step 3 – Draw the chest and arms for the dad
The dad that we will be depicting in this guide on how to draw Father’s Day was busy sitting and reading a newspaper before being surprised.
Using some more curved lines, you can draw his shoulders and arms dropping down, and then his hands will be clasped in his lap.
Also, draw some sharply curved lines for the pages of the newspaper on his lap. We will also be adding his striped tie before moving on.
Be sure to leave a small gap in his tie where we did in our reference image, as the present he’s receiving will fill this spot later.
Step 4 – Next, draw his son
We added the daughter of this image in a previous step, and this fourth part will see you adding the son to this Father’s Day drawing.
He will be standing to the right of the chair, and he will be hilding out a flat present wrapped with a bow. This flat gift will also fill in that space that you left in the tie previously.
There are a lot of details in this part, so be sure to take it slowly and closely copy the reference image to make sure you don’t struggle with it!
