How to Draw A Cartoon Witch – Let’s Get Started!

Step 1how to draw a cartoon witch step 1

In this first step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon witch, we will begin with the outlines for her head, hair and body.

As you can see in later steps, we will be drawing her in a charming cartoon style that is quite adorable!

You can begin by drawing two curved lines for the bottom half of her face. Then, we will add a small rounded neck beneath her head.

For her hair, we will use a bumpy line that goes across the top edge and then angles sharply down on the left.

Finally, draw her thick, rounded sleeve with a small hand at the end, and then finish off with a wavy line for the side of her clothing.

Step 2 – Now, draw some facial details and more of her bodyhow to draw a cartoon witch step 2

Now that you have some outlines done, we can start drawing some facial details and more of her body. The face is drawn in a really fun, whimsical style, and it’s also really easy to draw!

Her eyes will be drawn as two small rounded lines, and then her mouth will be a larger curved line beneath them.

We will also add three small lines on each cheek for some extra detail. Next, you can add another rounded sleeve with a hand holding the handle of her broomstick.

This handle is really straight, so you may want to use a ruler! Finish off by drawing the bottom of her cloak, and then we can continue.

Step 3 – Next, draw the rim of her hat and add more of her hairhow to draw a cartoon witch step 3

It wouldn’t be much of a cartoon witch drawing without a big witch’s hat, so we will start adding that along with some hair details now!

For the rim of her hat, simply draw a slightly curved line above her hair. Then, draw some wavy lines coming down from this rim on either side of her to show where her hair is dropping down.

By adding wavy lines inside of the hair outline, you will create some texture for the hair.

Step 4 – Now, draw her broomstick and legshow to draw a cartoon witch step 4

This witch needs her broomstick to be finished, and we will do that in this step! Before finishing the broomstick, first we will draw two thin, rounded shapes beneath her cloak.

These will be her legs, and they will each have a straight line across them to show where her shoes are.

The end of the broomstick will have some curved lines fanning out at the base with a rounded band tying it together.

The top half of the broomstick end will be thick and rounded with some straight texture lines drawn on the top and bottom.

The reference image will make it very clear, and then we can move on to some final details and touches in the next step.

Step 5 – Add the final details to your drawinghow to draw a cartoon witch step 5

Now, you’re ready to finish off the design before we add some colors to your creation in the final step of this guide on how to draw a cartoon witch!

We will be finishing off her hat in this step, and what a magnificent hat it is! The rest of the rim will be thick and rounded and will be rather wide above her head.

Then, there will be a small belt going across it over the rim. The top half of the hat will also be really large and drawn with some wavy, curved lines with a pointy tip at the end.

Once the hat is finished, you will also be ready to add some extra details of your own! You could create a spooky background or add some objects one may associate with a witch for a few ideas.

Step 6 – Finish off your drawing with colorhow to draw a cartoon witch step 6

You have arrived at the final step of your cartoon witch drawing, and now we can really bring her to life with some colors!

Finally, witches are well known for their skills in magic. You could add some magic spell effects to this cartoon witch sketch to really finish it off!
