Step 1
In this guide on how to draw a cartoon crocodile, we will be creating a really fun portrayal of this famous reptile!
This guy is floating underwater, and he is holding his breath. We will begin this portrayal with the head, and you can start by drawing some rounded lines for his cheeks.
This will help to make it look like he is holding his breath.
His mouth will be quite long and drawn with a wavy line. The end of his snout will also be rounded with some large nostrils extending out of it.
Finish off with some sharp teeth poking out, and then draw his eyes and facial outlines.
With the head completed, we can move on to the next step of the guide!
Step 2 – Draw his arms and the start of his body
Now we will continue this drawing by adding some arms to your cartoon crocodile drawing.
The arms of this crocodile will look similar to the arms on a real crocodile, and this means they will be fairly short and squat.
They will also have some sharp claws at the ends of them, and the reference image will also show you how you can position them to further make it look as if he is floating in water.

Step 3 – Now, draw the body of the crocodile

Step 4 – Finish off the outline of the body

Step 5 – Now, you can add the final details

As we mentioned earlier in the guide, this crocodile is floating underwater, and we will show that in this step.
You can do this by drawing small circular bubbles around it to show that it is holding its breath underwater.
We also added some small circles onto the skin of the crocodile to make it look more scaly and textured.
You could also add some extra details of your own, and these could include some background details for the body of water it is floating in.

Step 6 – Finish off your drawing with some color

As you can see in our reference image, we used some light greens for the outer portions of the crocodile’s skin, and then some yellows for the belly section.
