How to Draw A Man With A Dog – Let’s get Started!
Step 1
In this first step of our guide on how to draw a man with a dog, we will be drawing the head and shoulder of the man who is walking the dog.
While you’re drawing, it will be very helpful to refer closely to the reference image as you go. For now, you will be drawing the face, hair and shoulders of the man using some simple lines.
Once you’re happy with how it looks, you’re ready for step 2!
Step 2 – Draw the face and arm of the man
For this part of your man with a dog drawing you will be working on the face and the arm of the man.
First, you can use a simple shape for the eye of the man with a tiny rectangle for his eyebrow.
Then, you can draw the sleeve of his shirt going halfway down his arm and then draw the rest of his arm and hand as it is shown in the reference picture. You can also draw a small watch onto his wrist for an extra little detail!
Step 3 – Now, you can draw the other arm and begin the road
It’s time to start drawing the street that the man is walking on in this part of our guide on how to draw a man with a dog. We will also draw his other arm in this step, and we will start with that aspect.
The arm will be drawn at his back to show that he is swinging his arms a bit as he walks. It will look quite similar to the first one that you drew in that it will have a sleeve halfway down it.
Then, for the street you may want to use a ruler to make your life easier! It will be important to refer closely to the reference image as you draw this part, as we will be leaving some gaps in the line.
There will be four lines of various lengths for the street, and the gaps will be filled by the legs of the man and the dog.
You could also draw these lines with a pencil and then go over them with your pen once you’ve added the other elements.
Step 4 – Next, draw the legs of the man and start the dog
Now that you have the top half of the man drawn, we will now start on his legs and begin the dog as well for this part of your man with a dog drawing.
His legs will be drawn with some fairly simple curved and straight lines, and then you can draw a show at the bottom of the one on the right.
Then, you can use some curved lines to begin the head, back, tail and back leg of the dog.
As you can see in the reference image a lot of what you will be drawing will be filling up the gaps in the street.
Step 5 – Now, you can finish off the dog and the legs of the man
In this step of our guide on how to draw a man with a dog, we will be adding the final touches before the final step. First, finish off the dog by drawing the rest of its legs as they appear in the picture.
You can also add the other shoe of the man in this step. Once you have added these parts then you’re pretty much done!
Before you move on to the final step, you can also add any more details of your own. One fun idea would be to change up the details to make it look like it’s you walking your own dog or a dog that you would like to own!
