There are many classic cartoon characters from animation history that are loved around the world!
The Looney Tunes cartoons that started in the 1930s introduced many characters that are still popular to this day.
The mischievous Daffy Duck is one of the most popular of these characters, and he has featured in many forms of media including TV shows, movies, video games and more.
Now it’s your turn to create a new adventure for this character by learning how to draw Daffy Duck!
If you want to know how you can easily do just that, then you’ll want to work all the way through this tutorial.
Our step-by-step guide on how to draw Daffy Duck in 6 steps will show you how you can recreate this classic character.
How to Draw Daffy Duck – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
To start this guide on how to draw Daffy Duck, we shall begin by drawing his face and beak. Start by drawing two thin oval shapes next to one another.
The oval on the right will be a bit thinner to show perspective. Then, be sure to draw some more rounded shapes inside the eye outlines for his pupils.
You can then draw his beak to give him a smiling expression.
The beak will probably be the trickiest part of this entire drawing, so try your best to copy the curved lines shown in our reference image exactly as they appear there.
Finally, draw some more curved lines for the top of his head, and this will include three pointy shapes poking off the top.
Finish off this step by drawing some more lines for his neck, and then we can proceed.
Step 2 – Now, draw some mouth details and draw his first arm
Daffy Duck has a rather thin and lanky body and set of limbs, and we will add the first of those limbs to your Daffy Duck drawing in this step.
Before we do that though, we will first add some details to his face. You can start by drawing a tongue inside of his mouth, and then you can draw some dots for his nostrils.
Then, use some more curved lines to draw his lanky arm raised up, and then it will end in a hand with some long, thin fingers.
Once all of these have been drawn, it will be time for step 3 of the guide!
Step 3 – Next, draw another arm for Daffy Duck
In this third step of our guide on how to draw Daffy Duck, we will be drawing another arm for him.
This one will go on the left side, and this one will be bent over to have his hand curled at his waist.
This arm will also have some sharply curved lines on the top of the shoulder, as shown in our reference image.
To finish off this step, we will also be adding another line for his back extending down from under his shoulder. That’s all there is to it for this step, so now let’s proceed!
Step 4 – Now, draw the rest of the outline for his body
Continuing on with your Daffy Duck drawing, you’re now ready to add the rest of the outline for his body.
First, use some more curved lines to draw the front of his chest. These lines will extend into pointy tips to show that his chest is feathery.
His chest area will be quite thin, and then you can use some rounded lines ballooning out for the lower half of his body.
The bottom of his body will be larger and rounder than his chest area will be. Finish off with some small rounded shapes at the base of his body, as this is where his legs will extend from later on.
Step 5 – Add the final details to your Daffy Duck drawing
Your picture is almost completely drawn now, however he is still missing some important features!
These are what we will be drawing in this step of our guide on how to draw Daffy Duck as we get you ready for the final step.
The main element to add in this step will be his legs, and you can start these by drawing some curved lines coming down from those feathery shapes at the base of his body.
Then we will be drawing his feet onto the base of his legs. Each foot will be extending outward, and they will also be large and webbed.
Draw them using some more rounded lines that culminate in three toes at the end of each one.
Once his legs are drawn will you add any kind of background or extra details? This is your chance to get creative with it before you move to the final step, so be sure to have fun with it!
Step 6 – Finish off your Daffy Duck drawing with color
This character may not be the most colorful cartoon ever created, but he still has a rather striking color scheme!
We kept things accurate to his various appearances in our reference image by using black for his body and bright orange for his legs and beak. We also used some shades of reds and pinks for his mouth and tongue to finish him off!
Will you go with these same colors for your Daffy Duck drawing or will you create your own unique variation? We look forward to seeing what you do!
