Supplies needed:
- small foam cup
- black and white paint
- paint brush
- black and orange cardstock paper
- yellow feathers
- googly eyes
- toothpick
- scissors
- glue
Tutorial:
1. Paint your cup
Start by painting the outside and bottom of your foam cup with black paint. Once it has dried, turn the cup upside down and paint a white section on the front of the penguin body for his face and belly. (You could also just leave a section of the cup white when you are painting it black.)
2. Cut & glue face details
Cut an orange beak and black flippers out of your cardstock paper. Glue them onto your penguin along with your googly eyes.
3. Finish with feathers
Poke one or two holes in the bottom of the cup and insert yellow feathers into the hole(s). We had longer feathers so we just cut off two sections from the feather.
Once your glue has dried your penguins are all ready for play! If you make several Royal Penguin kids crafts you can stack them and have fun pretend play with them having them interact with each other. Or, use them to help you read a fun children’s penguin book.
