Paper Bag Pig Kids Craft

We are in love with paper bag puppets lately. They are just so much fun, we can’t help ourselves! So far this spring we’ve made a frog, duck, butterfly and bee and today we are sharing a simple and adorable Paper Bag Pig Craft. It’s so fun for pretend play and you can also couple it with your favorite children’s books with pig characters.

HOW TO MAKE A PAPER BAG PIG:

Supplies you will need:

  • paper lunch bag
  • pink paint
  • pink cardstock paper
  • googly eyes
  • black marker
  • scissors
  • glue

Directions:

1. Start by painting the front of your paper bag with pink paint. Let it dry completely.

2. From your pink cardstock paper you’ll need to cut out: 2 ears, a 2-inch circle nose, and a strip for your tail.

3. Glue your ears onto the back of the bag and your nose on the face of the puppet. Also, glue your googly eyes onto the face of the puppet. We bent our ears over a little to make like floppy ears.

4. Twist your pink strip of paper around your finger to make it curly. Glue it onto the back of your paper bag.

5. Finish your puppet by drawing a mouth on it with your black marker. Such a cute and happy pig!

There are so many fun books you can read to go along with this craft. We read I Know A Wee Piggy by Kim Norman.
It is a cute book for preschoolers for reviewing colors.
