The Cutest Christmas Moose Craft

Have you ever seen a moose in the wild? They are incredible creatures! My oldest son recently had an experience seeing a bull moose chasing a cow moose down the mountainside with her calf and it inspired this darling moose craft we are sharing today. In this post learn how to make this cute Christmas moose craft with our helpful template, step-by-step tutorial and video.

You’ll notice our moose craft is made Christmasy and festive with Christmas lights tangled around it’s antlers. Not only does this add a fun Christmas element to the craft but the yarn wrapping is great for little ones to work on fine motor skills.

How to Make a Christmas Moose Craft

Instructions:

1. Begin by downloading the moose craft template. Print the first page of the template on brown cardstock and the second page of the template on cream colored cardstock.

2. Cut out all of the pieces of the template.

3. Use your glue stick to glue the moose muzzle at the bottom of the the moose face. Then glue the antlers on the sides of the moose head.

4. Cut off a piece of black yarn about 18-24 inches long. Tape the end of the black yarn at the base of one of the antlers on the back side of the moose. Wrap the yarn around the antlers several times until you reach the opposite end of the antler. Tape the yarn down on the back of the antler and cut off any excess yarn.

Repeat step 4 again with another piece of black yarn for the second moose antler.

5. Attach a small Glue Dot to the back of several small colorful poms. (You could also use a glue gun.) Glue the small poms on the black yarn to look like colorful Christmas lights.

6. Glue the ears on your moose craft. Then glue two googly eyes on your moose.

7. Use a pencil to draw the outline of two nostrils at the bottom of your moose craft. Use your black marker to color in the two nostrils.

Your adorable Christmas Moose Craft is complete!
