Halloween is one of our favorite holidays! My children love decorating with pumpkins, ghosts, bats, witches and more inside and outside the home for trick-or-treaters who come by.
These easy-to-make Halloween windsocks look super cute hung under a covered front porch to blow around in the fall wind, or hung anywhere inside the home.

Supplies Needed for making Halloween Windsocks

- cardstock paper (green, orange, black and white)
- crepe paper (orange, black and white)
- googly eyes
- markers
- scissors
- glue

How to Make a Jack-o-Lantern Windsock
Here’s a fun way to create a jack-0-lantern without the mess of carving pumpkins. Let kids design their own faces by cutting out shapes from black cardstock or construction paper and hang them up inside the classroom for a fun Halloween display.
1. Trace and cut out pumpkin face pieces
Use our printable template to trace and cut out the pumpkin face pieces from black and white cardstock paper or construction paper.
2. Glue pieces in the center of orange cardstock paper
Glue the jack-o-lantern eyes, nose and mouth in the center of a piece of orange cardstock paper.
3. Cut six pieces of orange crepe paper and glue them along bottom of cardstock
Cut six pieces of orange crepe paper about 24 inches in length. Turn your jack-o-lantern over. Use a glue stick to add glue at the bottom of the paper and place all six pieces of crepe paper along the bottom of your cardstock.
4. Bend cardstock into a circle and staple the ends together
Bend your jack-0-lantern into a circle, connecting the ends together. Place two staples at the top and bottom of the windsock to join the ends together.
5. Cut out green strip and staple it inside the top of windsock
Cut a length of green cardstock 1-inch by 11-inches. Place the strip inside the top of the windsock and attach it with a staple. Then staple the opposite end of the green strip to the opposite end of the windsock.
How to Make a Witch Windsock
The added flair of the bright orange flowy hair on this witch makes it my favorite! Kids will love watching their witch blow around in the wind for Halloween.
1. Cut out pieces of orange crepe paper and glue them onto green cardstock paper
Cut out 4 pieces of orange crepe paper 14-inches in length and two pieces of orange crepe paper about 4-inches in length. Glue the two smaller pieces at the top and center of a green piece of cardstock paper to make witch bangs. Then glue two of the longer pieces on each side of the bangs.
2. Glue eyes and nose onto with craft, draw a smiley face
Glue googly eyes onto your witch craft. Then cut out a pointy witch nose from green cardstock. Bend down the bottom of the nose and use a glue stick to glue it down in the center of the green cardstock paper. Then use a red marker to draw a smiley face on your witch.
3. Cut six pieces of black crepe paper and glue them at the bottom of cardstock paper
Cut six pieces of black crepe paper about 24 inches in length. Turn your witch over. Use a glue stick to add glue at the bottom of the paper and place all six pieces of crepe paper along the bottom of your cardstock.
4. Bend witch into a circle and staple top&bottom together
Bend your witch into a circle, connecting the ends together. Place two staples at the top and bottom of the windsock to join the ends together.
5. Trace and cut out witch hat, staple it onto witch windsock
Use our printable template to trace and cut out the witch hat from black cardstock paper. Then staple it onto your witch windsock.
6. Cut out purple strip and staple it inside the top of windsock
Cut a length of purple cardstock 1-inch by 11-inches. Place the strip inside the top of the windsock and attach it with a staple. Then staple the opposite end of the purple strip to the opposite end of the windsock.
How to Make a Mummy Windsock
No template is needed for this simple mummy which makes it the easiest of all the Halloween characters to make. Those big googly eyes popping out make this windsock extra festive.
1. Cut out 5 pieces of white crepe paper and glue them onto black cardstock paper
Cut out five pieces of white crepe paper 11-inches in length. Use a glue stick to glue each of the pieces of crepe paper onto a piece of black cardstock paper. Overlap some of the crepe paper pieces a little to create a few small black gaps on your cardstock. Then glue two large googly eyes in the center of your paper.
2. Cut 6 pieces of white crepe paper and glue them along bottom of cardstock
Cut six pieces of white crepe paper about 24 inches in length. Turn your mummy over. Use a glue stick to add glue at the bottom of the paper and place all six pieces of crepe paper along the bottom of your cardstock.

How to Make a Bat Windsock
It doesn’t get any more festive for Halloween than some bats hanging from the ceiling. These simple bats are a great craft for a Halloween class party, especially with our easy template.
1. Trace and cut out bat pieces, glue them onto black cardstock paper
Use our printable template to trace and cut out the bat ears, teeth and wings from black cardstock paper. Glue googly eyes in the center of a piece of black cardstock paper. Then glue your bat ears and teeth onto the black cardstock.
2. Cut 6 pieces of black crepe paper and glue them along the bottom of cardstock
Cut six pieces of black crepe paper about 24 inches in length. Turn your bat over. Use a glue stick to add glue at the bottom of the paper and place all six pieces of crepe paper along the bottom of your cardstock.

4. Add bat wings
Fold over the end of each bat wing (as shown on the template). Add glue on the folded section and attach a wing to each side of the bat windsock.
5. Cut out black strip and staple it inside the top of windsock
Cut a length of black cardstock 1-inch by 11-inches. Place the strip inside the top of the windsock and attach it with a staple. Then staple the opposite end of the black strip to the opposite end of the windsock.
How to Make a Ghost Windsock
Boo! This simple ghost windsock is super easy to create, making it a perfect Halloween craft for preschoolers. Let kids choose what color handle to put on their windsock so you can add some extra color to your Halloween display.
1. Trace and cut out ghost pieces, glue them in the center of white cardstock paper
