Make reading extra fun for kids by making some of these DIY monster bookmarks. These cute and colorful monsters are super easy for kids of all ages to create, especially with our handy template.
With so many fun and creative ways for kids to design their own unique monster, they won’t want to stop with just one bookmark. Before you know it, they’ll have an entire collection of colorful monsters.
These monster bookmarks would also be a great a great Halloween craft for kids. Make them at a Halloween class party or with friends at a play date.

How to Make DIY Monster Bookmarks

Supplies needed for making a Monster Bookmark
- Bookmark template <—- Get the Template HERE
- colored cardstock paper
- googly eyes (We love these Halloween googly eyes!)
- markers
- Glue Dots
- hole punch (optional)
- pencil
- scissors
- glue stick
Instructions for making DIY Bookmarks
Step 1: Start by downloading and printing out the bookmark template on colored cardstock paper. You could also use scrapbook or origami paper to give you monster some patterned texture.
Step 2: Use a pencil to design and draw the shape of your monster’s big nose on the template. Then cut out both the bookmark and monster nose.

Step 3: Attach a glue dot on the back and top of the big nose. Then place it onto the bookmark.
Step 4: Glue googly eyes onto your monster bookmark. Get creative by mixing different sizes of eyes, one big eye or maybe even three eyes.

Step 5: Use a marker to draw a mouth on your monster. Then add extra details to your monster with extra cardstock paper and markers. Some ideas are adding with teeth around your monster mouth and coloring in eyebrows.
You can also cut up strips of paper and add strips at the bottom of your monster. Or make small circles with a hole punch and glue them onto your bookmark to create spots on your monster.

Your big-nosed monster bookmark is complete
To use your new bookmark, simply slide it down with the nose in front of the page you want to save. The googly eyes peeking out above the big nose help you easily find your place in your book.
