Instructions for making DIY Monster Bookmarks
1. Download and print out bookmark template on colored paper
Start by downloading and printing out the bookmark template on colored cardstock paper. You could also use scrapbook or origami paper to give you monster some patterned texture.
2. Cut out bookmark and monster nose
Use a pencil to design and draw the shape of your monster’s big nose on the template. Then cut out both the bookmark and monster nose.
3. Stick nose to the bookmark
Attach a glue dot on the back and top of the big nose. Then place it onto the bookmark.
4. Add eyes
Glue googly eyes onto your monster bookmark. Get creative by mixing different sizes of eyes, one big eye or maybe even three eyes.
5. Draw mouth, add teeth and other details
Use a marker to draw a mouth on your monster. Then add extra details to your monster with extra cardstock paper and markers. Some ideas are adding with teeth around your monster mouth and coloring in eyebrows.
You can also cut up strips of paper and add strips at the bottom of your monster. Or make small circles with a hole punch and glue them onto your bookmark to create spots on your monster.
To use your new bookmark, simply slide it down with the nose in front of the page you want to save. The googly eyes peeking out above the big nose help you easily find your place in your book.
