Last year I made this fun fireworks craft with my boys. They loved the craft, but I noticed that they had a bit of trouble freehanding the fireworks shape themselves. In the picture below, my preschooler needed a lot of help forming his fireworks with the glue.
While browsing the craft isle recently, I came across some fun star-shaped decorations, and it sparked an idea for making this firework craft easier for children. Using any sort of star sequin, sticker or button is the key!
Look how much more defined my preschooler’s art turned out this year.
Attach the star to the piece of paper with glue.
Start by gluing the stars all over a black piece of paper. Then using the corners of the star as a guide, draw your firework lines with school glue. See what I mean pictured below.
Using the stars makes it sooooo much easier for kids to make their fireworks!
Allow the glitter to dry completely before removing the excess.
Make sure you let the glue dry completely before dumping off the glitter so the colors don’t mix.
Since we live in Utah and fireworks aren’t available everywhere due to the recent spurt of fires, this fun little craft is a great alternative! 🙂
