At the end of summer every year or start of Fall, we always look forward to making an apple tree craft. It’s been a tradition for several years now so I couldn’t wait to get started this year. I made a quick survey of supplies in my craft closet and we came up with this colorful Apple Tree Kids Craft that is made with a paper plate, cardboard, tissue paper and buttons. It is super simple to make and is great for preschool through elementary age kids, so it’s a perfect activity to make together as a family.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPLE TREE KIDS CRAFT
Supplies you will need:
- paper plates
- cardboard
- green tissue paper (cut into squares)
- red buttons
- brown paint (or brown marker)
- school glue
- scissors
- stapler
Directions:
1. Start by cutting a rectangle out of your cardboard for your tree trunk. Cut another small section out to use as a stamp to make texture onto your tree trunk. Pour a small amount of brown paint onto a paper plate and using the end of the extra cardboard piece, dip it into the brown paint and then onto your cardboard trunk. Make lines up and down your trunk. (As an alternative and to save time, you could also use a brown marker to make the lines on the tree trunk.)
2. Add school glue onto one section on the back of a paper plate and then scrunch and add tissue paper onto the paper plate. Continue adding glue and tissue paper to different sections until it is full.
3. Staple your tree trunk onto the bottom of your paper plate.
4. Get out your red buttons and glue them all over your tree to make apples.
