How to Draw A Cartoon Mom – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
Let’s begin this guide on how to draw a cartoon mom with her face and head outline. You can start with her eyes, and these are drawn using some circles with some curved lines surrounding them.
Her nose can be drawn using a simple curved line, and then we can add her smiling mouth beneath.
These will also be drawn using some thin curved shapes with her teeth showing in the middle. Then, draw her chin, jaw and side of her face using some slightly curved lines.
Her hair can then be added using some wavy shapes with pointy tips at the ends.

Step 2 – Now, add her hairstyle
This cartoon mom design has a big and beautiful hairstyle! This hairstyle looks really impressive, but it could also prove a little tricky to draw.
That’s why you’ll want to carefully replicate it as it appears in our reference image. This is the kind of step where you can really take your time as you add all of the intricacies.
There will also be some small details such as a bow in her hair.
Of you find yourself struggling, you can draw in pencil first and then add the pen lines above these planning lines. Just remember it’s not a race and you can take your time!
Step 3 – Next, draw the head of the baby and other details
This cartoon mom drawing will also include a cute little baby that she is holding, and we will start drawing this very baby in this third step.
The head of the baby is rather small and rounded, and there is a curvy tuft of hair at the top of the head.
It also has some large, expressive eyes that have circular glints in them.
There will also be some round eyebrows above them, and the nose will be made up of a small curved line like the mother’s was. Don’t forget the smiling mouth!
Finally, we will use some more slightly curved lines for the harness holding the baby onto it’s mother’s chest. We will add some more to this harness shortly
Step 4 – Now, add the arm of the mother
For this fourth step of our guide on how to draw a cartoon mom, we will add the arm of the mom with some other details.
Once this step is complete, we will then finish off the final details in the next step of the guide. As you can see in our example image, the top of her shoulder will be covered by her shirt.
Then, you can use some more curved lines to have her arm extending down from the shirt to bend slightly at the elbow.
Then, we will add another part of the harness extending from behind her back. Once these are added, it will be time to add those final details we mentioned as we proceed to step 5!
Step 5 – Add the final details to your cartoon mom drawing
This drawing is already looking incredible! It’s almost time to finish off with some color, but first we have some final details to add.
First, use some small curved lines to finish off the outlines of the harness holding the baby. Then, we will draw its little hand and arm extending up to hug its mom for a really cute touch!
Once these details are added, you’re ready for the final step! Before that, you could also add some extra details of your own.
Perhaps you could draw a background to create a scene for this image!
