Balloon Print Spider Craft for Kids

Creepy, crawly spiders make me cringe in real life, but I can never resist a fun spider craft. For some reason in craft form they just don’t look as scary to me. We’ve made spider crafts with a variety of different materials like cupcake liners, paper plates and plastic fruit cups, but today we used one of our favorite painting techniques with balloons and make this adorable balloon print spider craft for kids. It’s a fun and simple craft for Halloween that kids of all ages will enjoy.

Tutorial:

1.  Prepare your supplies

Determine how many colors you will be using for your spiders and blow up that many balloons and get out that many small paper plates. Pour a small amount of paint onto each paper plate.

2. Make three prints

Dip the bottom of the balloon into the paint, making sure to cover it completely in paint. Now press the balloon down onto your paper to make a round print. We made three prints on our paper in different colors, but you can decide how many and what colors you want. Let the prints dry completely.

3. Add eyes and draw legs

Once the prints have dried, glue googly eyes onto your spiders. Use a few different sizes to make your spiders unique. Finish your spiders by using your ultra fine point black marker to draw legs and a web string coming out from on top of the spider.
