Alphabet and Number St. Patrick’s Day Matching

My preschooler adored our Alphabet and Number Heart Matching Game for Valentine’s Day so I’ve made a new one with a St. Patrick’s Day theme for her to continue practicing her letters and numbers.

This time I made a shamrock shape and green round stickers compliment the matching game.

Instructions for making Alphabet and Number St. Patrick’s Day Matching

1. Prepare the Material

Print off the alphabet and number shamrock printables from your home printer.

2. Mark the Numbers and Letters

Write capital letters A through Z and numbers 1 through 20 onto your green stickers with your black marker.

3. Match the Letters

Now your child is all set to start matching. For the alphabet game, match all the capital letter stickers onto the lowercase letters on the shamrock.

I always talk to my daughter as she does her matching asking her questions like: “What letter are you matching now? Can you remember what sound that makes? Can you think of an object that starts with that letter?”

4. Match the Numbers

For the number game, match all the number stickers onto the correct number on the shamrock.

I also like to ask questions like “What number are you matching on your shamrock right now? What number comes before that number? What number comes after that number?”
