These back to school slime party favors are a perfectly festive way to gear up for back to school! Whether you make them as an activity at a back to school party or just as a fun activity at home with your kids, these slime party favors are sure to be a hit.

Back to School Slime Party Favors

What brings these fun slime party favors over the top is Oriental Trading’s darling apple containers. They come in both red and green so kids will love getting to choose between green glittery apple slime or red glittery apple slime to add to their container. Our printable gift tag adds a perfect final touch to the slime party favors, wishing children a slime-tastic school year.

Supplies needed:

Red or Green Liquid Food Coloring
Baking Soda
Contact Solution
Mixing Bowl
Mixing Spoon
Measuring Spoons
Scissors
Hole Punch

Instructions:

1. Pour glue to the bowl

Pour one bottle of Clear School Glue into your mixing bowl.

2. Add glitter

Add a generous amount of glitter (1 to 2 tablespoons) to the mixing bowl and stir to incorporate it.

3. Add food coloring & water

Now add 4-6 drops of liquid food coloring into your mixing bowl and mix it in to make your slime colorful. Next, to give your slime a stretchy texture, add 2 tablespoons of water to your bowl and mix to combine it into the other ingredients.

4. Mix in baking soda

Pour 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda into your mixing bowl and stir to incorporate it.

5. Add contact solution

Now comes the magic part. Add 1 tablespoon of contact solution to your bowl. Stir together until the mixture gets harder and slime begins to form. When the slime forms into a ball and it becomes difficult to stir, remove it from the bowl and knead it together in your hands to finish mixing it.

6. Print out & cut tag template

Download the Free Slime Gift Tag Printable here! Print the slime gift tag template on white cardstock. Then gather your green and red apple favor containers. Cut out a gift tag and punch a hole at the end of the tag. Cut a piece of Baker’s Twine about 18 inches long. Fold it in half and feed the folded end in through the hole on the front of the gift tag. Feed the opposite end of the string through the loop you just created and pull it tight.

7. Tie tags to the apple container

Now tie the gift tag around the stem of a red or green apple favor container. Tie a bow and cut off any excess Baker’s Twine.

7. Add slime to the containers

Whether you make red or green apple slime, both are colorful, sparkly and are the perfect compliment to a back to school apple themed party. After kids are finished playing with the slime, open the apple container and place your glittery apple slime inside. Close it up and you have a cute back to school party favor.
