I recently ordered some books from my preschooler’s scholastic book order…Oh how I love the smell of new books! We have been having so much fun reading through all of them this last week. One of the books is about a cute baby duck and it inspired us to make this cute Paper Bag Duck Craft. It is soooo simple to make and super fun for kids to play with!

HOW TO MAKE A PAPER BAG DUCK

Supplies you will need:

  • paper lunch bag
  • yellow paint
  • paint brush
  • orange cardstock paper
  • yellow cupcake liner
  • large googly eyes
  • black marker
  • glue
Directions:
1. Start by painting your paper bag yellow. Let it dry completely.
2. While your paper bag dries, cut a beak out of your orange cardstock paper and cut your yellow cupcake liner in half. Draw two little marks on your beak with your black marker.
3. Once your bag is dry, glue your beak onto your paper bag and glue the cupcake liner halves on the sides of the bag on the front flap.
4. Finish your duck by gluing on your googly eyes.
The book we read that inspired this craft is A Cuddle For Little Duck. It’s a really simple book about a young ducklings ordinary day. Here are more fun books about ducks:
Five Little Ducks by Annie Kubler
Thump, Quack, Moo: A Whacky Adventure by Doreen Cronin
Duck at the Door by Jackie Urbanovic
