After we made our Popsicle Stick Bee earlier this week my daughter asked if we could make a Butterfly to go with it just like we did with our Paper Bag Bee and Butterfly. “What a fabulous idea!” I told her and our cute and colorful Popsicle Stick Butterfly Kids Craft was born.

Supplies you will need:
- mini craft sticks
- regular size craft sticks
- acrylic paint(optional, you can leave it unpainted if you want)
- white cardstock paper
- Do-A-Dot Art Markers
- pipe cleaner
- googly eyes
- scissors
- tape
- tacky glue
Directions:
1. Assemble butterfly body
Start by assembling your butterfly body together with your popsicle sticks. Put a line of tacky glue down two regular size craft sticks and add mini popsicle sticks all the way down. Let the glue dry completely.
2. Paint butterfly body
If you want, paint your butterfly body with the color of your choice and let it dry completely.
3. Cut out wings and decorate them with Do-A-Dot markers
Cut two heart shaped wings out of your white cardstock paper. Use your Do-A-Dot markers to make your wings colorful.
4. Create and attach antennae
Cut your pipe cleaner into fourths. Take two of the sections, curl the ends of them to make antennae and glue them to the back of your butterfly. I also put some tape over them to hold them in place while they were drying.
5. Glue wings to the butterfly
Glue your heart wings to the back of your butterfly.
6. Glue eyes
Finish you butterfly by gluing the googly eyes onto his face. You could also use a marker to draw a mouth on it if you want.
It turned out super colorful and cute just like our Paper Bag Butterflies. I love how using the Do-A-Dot Markers makes each of the butterflies so unique. You can glue a magnet to the back of it and attach to the fridge to put it on display.
