Supplies Needed for making Halloween Windsocks

How to Make a Jack-o-Lantern Windsock

Here’s a fun way to create a jack-0-lantern without the mess of carving pumpkins. Let kids design their own faces by cutting out shapes from black cardstock or construction paper and hang them up inside the classroom for a fun Halloween display.

Step 1: Use our printable template to trace and cut out the pumpkin face pieces from black and white cardstock paper or construction paper.

Step 2: Glue the jack-o-lantern eyes, nose and mouth in the center of a piece of orange cardstock paper.

Step 4: Bend your jack-0-lantern into a circle, connecting the ends together. Place two staples at the top and bottom of the windsock to join the ends together.

Step 5: Cut a length of green cardstock 1-inch by 11-inches. Place the strip inside the top of the windsock and attach it with a staple. Then staple the opposite end of the green strip to the opposite end of the windsock.

How to Make a Witch Windsock

The added flair of the bright orange flowy hair on this witch makes it my favorite! Kids will love watching their witch blow around in the wind for Halloween.

Step 1: Cut out 4 pieces of orange crepe paper 14-inches in length and two pieces of orange crepe paper about 4-inches in length. Glue the two smaller pieces at the top and center of a green piece of cardstock paper to make witch bangs. Then glue two of the longer pieces on each side of the bangs.

Step 2: Glue googly eyes onto your witch craft. Then cut out a pointy witch nose from green cardstock. Bend down the bottom of the nose and use a glue stick to glue it down in the center of the green cardstock paper. Then use a red marker to draw a smiley face on your witch.
