Cookie Cutter Stamped Fall Tree

My preschooler and I began our welcoming of the fall season with this fun Fall Tree Craft today. It’s simple enough for toddlers to create yet still fun for older kids (and big kid adults like myself) to make, and the end result is beautiful! All you need is a leaf shaped cookie cutter, some red, orange and yellow paint and some brown and blue paper.

Cut a tree trunk out of brown paper and glue it on to your blue background paper. Then dip your cookie cutter in red paint and make prints all over your paper. Wash off the cookie cutter and repeat with orange and yellow leaf prints. Make sure to make some prints along the bottom for falling leaves.
My daughter chose to use an Oak leaf shape and I used a Maple. It was a perfect opportunity to talk about fall colors while we created our artwork. She just turned 3 years old and besides cutting out the tree trunk, she completed this project completely on her own. It’s definitely one to put on display this fall.  🙂

Thanks for stopping by! I have so many fun projects in the works, I can’t wait to share with you. This is my favorite time of the year for crafting!

**I have a similar project to this pinned HERE. The website no longer exists and is routed to an etsy shop, but in an effort to stay genuine and give proper credit, I wanted to share a link to the original idea.

In case you missed our Fall Tree Craft last year, you can check it out HERE. There are some books listed in that post which we are reading again this year that are great for this time of the year.
