DIY 3-Tiered Stand

First of all, I am super excited to be a new co-host of the monthly Pinterest Challenge with some amazing bloggers! Have you heard about it? Stop by here on the first Monday of every month to link up and share the projects you created that were inspired by Pinterest. It’s great way to actually put to use all of those pins on your boards!

Now on to my project…

I saw a fantastic DIY 3-tiered stand over at the Crafting Chicks and after pinning it, I’ve been dying to re-create it for myself. The best part about this project (besides it’s awesomeness) is that it cost me less than $10 to make. Yipee!

Kirsten at Crafting Chicks was able to find 3 round pans of varying sizes and 2 metal candlesticks both about the same size, but I had trouble with that. I felt discouraged at first but then as I gathered up different pans at the thrift store, I realized I liked the look of having different shaped pans as my tiers.

I was able to find a fun scallop-shaped pan for my base, a hexagon for my center and small round pan for my top tier. Also, since I had no luck with metal candlesticks, I simply found 2 glass candlesticks, one larger and one smaller.

I was worried about how the spray paint would adhere to the glass, but after talking with the paint specialist at Lowe’s, he was able to pull up the Valspar Primer + Paint brand online and saw that it specifically listed glass in it’s full description, so I went with it and it worked GREAT!

The most annoying part about any project I do is the waiting time for glue to dry, don’t you agree?!!

My main objective in making this was to use it as a fruit stand on my kitchen counter. I am so happy with how it turned out! A big thanks to Kirsten at The Crafting Chicks for sharing such an awesome project! Make sure you stop by to check out her 3-Tiered Stand

This stand will also be extra fun to use at parties and get-togethers. So many possibilities!

Has Pinterest inspired you to create something this month? Make sure to stop by on Monday to link up and share your creations with us at the June Pinterest Challenge.
